In April 2021, the Myanmar military services detained Burmese filmmaker Maung Thein Dan in Insein Township in Yangon. The artist was charged with “supporting anti-governing administration protests” more than the alleged sale of anti-coup protests’ footage, claimed Chron.
The artist is currently awaiting demo in Insein jail in Yangon right after getting accused of advertising footage documenting anti-coup protests to the Japanese journalist Kitazumi Yuki.
