Grey’s Anatomy alum and consensus resident heart-throb Jesse Williams has been added to the cast of the new Hulu drama pilot Olga Dies Dreaming. Deadline reported that the actor has been cast alongside Parks and Recreation actress Aubrey Plaza and Gang Related actor Ramón Rodríguez.
Olga Dies Dreaming follows a Nuyorican brother (Rodríguez) and sister (Plaza) from a gentrifying Sunset Park in Brooklyn who are reckoning with their absent, politically radical mother and their glittering careers among New York City’s elite in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The one-hour drama pilot based on the novel by Xochitl Gonzalez and is will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. Gomez-Rejon and Gonzalez are executive producing the pilot while Plaza and Rodriguez produce. The series comes from 20th Television.
Williams will play Matteo, a passionate Brooklynite and collector of music, of objects, of trivia, and opinions. He’d come across as a know it all if, in fact, he wasn’t so genuinely curious about everything. He’s a person keenly aware of people’s inclination to put everyone and everything into neat little boxes and he firmly refuses to conform.
Williams is best known for his role as Jackson Avery on Shonda Rhimes’ cult status medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. The actor recently finished his 12-season stint on the show. Upcoming, Williams is set to star in the features Marked Man and Paramount’s Secret Headquarters. He is currently starring in the Tony Award-winning play Take Me Out.
